The September plenary session, which will be held next Thursday, will include among its points the approval of the creation of the Municipal Council of Commerce and its statutes. This is a council that will annually bring together representatives of the departments of Commerce, Tourism, Culture, Festivities, Local Agenda 21, Services and the Interior, the political groups of the City Council, local business associations, the Association of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs of the Marina Alta (Aehtma), the Circle of Entrepreneurs (Cedma), the General Directorate of Commerce, the Council of Chambers of Commerce of the Valencian Community and municipal technical staff.
The councilor for the area, Vicente Chelet, announced that among the objectives of this council is "Combine and coordinate the programming of all those involved so that we can get more out of the activities at a lower cost", besides promoting commerce in the city and favoring the creation and maintenance of companies.
It is expected that the first meeting of the council will be next December.
