Montessori English Academy is an English academy for children from 3 years to adulthood.
Your teacher, Lyndall, has a experience of more than seventeen years carrying out the Montessori method.
In this center, children have freedom of movement and experiential learning, without exams or levels.
Lyndall studied at a Montessori school in Fayetteville, Arkansas, (USA), constituting this teaching method a fundamental part of her current personality.
The teacher teaches classes Children from 3 to 6 years, 6 to 12 years, 12 to 18 yearsAs adults, helping to align the school's Montessori curriculum and values with the English as a Foreign Language curriculum.
Montessori education
The main objective in Montessori education is to encourage the child's independence and responsibility.
At Montessori English Academy, her teacher Lyndall observes and helps her students, adapting to their needs, using materials that contain multiple concepts that children can explore using their hands and minds simultaneously. With this method, the child self-directs the activity, moving towards greater independence, concentration and personal growth.
A Montessori lesson
At Montessori English Academy classes are taught at small groups of children. However, each child will progress at their own pace.
In this center the typical teaching methods are not followed, such as worksheets. Without an arbitrary limit set by a leaf, children become highly resourceful, skillful, and creative.
Age groups at Montessori English Academy
In this center the children are grouped in small classes with mixed ages and abilities. With this combination of ages, the younger child can observe the older one, and the older ones will benefit from having to help explain concepts to the younger one, because knowing how to do something is not the same as having to explain it.
