Martín Berasategui card by the III International Competition of Creative Cuisine Red Gamba de Dénia

The prestigious chef Martín Berasategui, who now has to his credit with 7 Michelin stars, has joined III International Competition of Creative Cuisine of the Red Prawn of Dénia this year again be held at the Mercat de Dénia.

Berasategui will thus join the three Michelin stars Quique Dacosta, who has participated as a member of the jury in the first two editions, and the gastronomic critics José Carlos Capel and Julia Pérez. All of them will be in charge of judging the dishes that the selected chefs will cook live with one ingredient as the main protagonist: the red prawn of Dénia.

Registration for the contest remain open until next February 22, and the winners get prizes of 1.000, 800 and 300 euros, plus a sculpture by the artist Toni Marí.

The International Creative Cuisine Contest of the Red Shrimp of Dénia is one of the strengths of Dénia for its candidacy to the City of Gastronomy of the UENSCO, and has shown its quality in the two editions held so far.

In the first edition, held in 2012, the winner was Jose Manuel Lopez Iglesias, the restaurant Dianense "Peix and phrases". Last year, the first prize went to Tarragona, to restaurant Quinoa.

At the end of February we will know the names of the eight finalists who will cook live their creations in the Mercat Municipal to win the first prize and prestigious culinary competition.
