Marina Health meets 5 years in charge of health in the region

On April 3, 2009, the new Marina Alta regional hospital was inaugurated in style. Five years later, more than 5.900 births, 55.000 surgeries, more than 10 million clinical tests, more than 850.000 visits to specialists, more than 550.000 radiological examinations, more than 265.000 hospital emergencies and more than 7 million assistances in the health centers.

These figures summarize the first five years of life of the regional hospital, which held an institutional event in the entrance hall where the Regional Secretary for Health, Luis Ibáñez; the President of Marina Salud, Josep Santacreu and the Manager of the Dénia Health Department, Ángel Giménez, as well as numerous hospital workers.

In addition to remembering the tour of the hospital with an audiovisual throughout this time, the speakers wanted to emphasize "It has allowed the residents of the Marina Alta to be treated in their hospital without the need to move to other health centers of the Community, while gradually expanding the initial service portfolio", as recalled the regional secretary of the Ministry of Health.

Josep Santacreu stressed "the importance of having new infrastructures and techniques that shorten the time to place ourselves among the departments with better healthcare results in the Valencian Community", while the manager of Marina Salud, Ángel Giménez, stressed the importance of the work of the 1.200 professionals linked to the company.
