Marina de Dénia opens the term for Sculptures facing the sea

On February 1, the registration period to participate in the V edition of the 'Sculptures facing the sea' contest opens and ends on June 20. All artists who wish can participate, both individually and collectively. The theme and technique of the work are free. It must be taken into account that the works will be exhibited outdoors, in the Marina Dénia Sports and Tourist Port and the minimum measurement of the work will be 120 centimeters in height.

The exhibition, organized by Marina Dénia in collaboration with the Dénia City Council, will open on July 18 and end on October 5. The first prize in this contest is endowed with 1.500 euros, the second with 1.000 euros and the third with 500 euros. The jury will make the prior selection of the works, once the submission period ends and will notify each contestant by email if their work has been chosen or not for the exhibition. The jury is made up of: the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, the Councilor for Culture, Raúl García de la Reina, the captain-director of Marina Dénia, Gabriel Martínez and the artists, Toni Marí, Nicolás Merle, Modesto Marí, Joan Castejón and Maribel Font, a technician from the Dénia City Council's culture department.

“This year we reached the 5th edition of a contest that has been growing and consolidating. At Marina Dénia we are committed to art and we want to be a space for artists to exhibit their works”, says Gabriel Martínez.
