Socialists call the politically resounding no PP to oil exploration

November 06 from 2014 - 00: 00

The PSOE federal secretary for climate change and sustainability, Pilar Lucio, yesterday afternoon transferred to the mayors and socialist spokespersons of the Marina Alta the position of the PSOE executive led by Pedro Sánchez against the oil exploration project on the Valencian-Balearic coast .

After the meeting, the Socialist leader and congressional deputy said that "the extractions of hydrocarbons in the sea have no place in the model of sustainable management that we defend the socialists" Lucio stressed that the Socialists are defending against prospections in all the territories of the state, while the PP acts electorally and irresponsibly, as it suits.

Lucio lamented the PP's double speech: "they say not with the small mouth, meanwhile in Madrid continues to support this type of unsustainable projects."

The leader of the Dianense socialists and mayoral candidate, Vicent Grimalt, said “It is of no use to collect signatures, to approve declarations and motions in full against the prospects in Valencia, if the State Popular Party still does not definitively paralyze these" Grimalt stressed that "while Ana Kringe continues to take pictures of herself in the photo-call, we socialists act and denounce".

Lucio complained that the PP and CIU did not support in Congress the Proposition No of Law (a motion) that the PSOE presented in which they requested that its rejection to the permits of investigation or authorizations of exploration of hydrocarbons, granted or in Processing, in the Spanish Mediterranean Sea, as well as to the authorization of new phases of those in force.

On the negative vote of the Popular Party to this proposal, he called a procedural excuse to trust the future of the oil prospecting to the study of environmental impact.
