Four representatives of different left-wing parties in La Marina Alta issued and expressed, yesterday, a joint statement against the closure of nighttime emergencies in various towns in the region. Saül Ortolà (Esquerra Republicana del País Valencià), Jordi Serra (PSPV-PSOE), Lluís Torró (Esquerra Unida), Sergi Ferrús (BLOC-Compromís) and Xavi Pons (Platform in defense of Public Health); joined in one voice to highlight the legal irregularities that are going to be committed with the decision of the company Marina Salud to close the Continuous Care Points of some municipalities.

In the letter, the various political forces stated that, according to the General Health Law, urgent care of primary care is not a function of hospitals and that the inhabitants of a basic area should not go to them for problems that do not present greater complexity. In addition, they added, a right established by LAW 16/2003, of May 28, on cohesion and quality of the National Health System is violated. This law establishes the right to primary care at home and the representatives of the left believe that, by passing the doctors from the Health Center to the Dénia Hospital, the emergency home care that was carried out by the professionals of the Health Center, on the other hand, without receiving any amount for mileage.

On the other hand, expressed the illegality of the miscommunication between the company and the mayors of the affected municipalities, they say, they heard about the closure of PAC's by the press. For all of them, Marina Health has denied the exercise of its powers and prevented any leeway that might exist by law. Current health law states on this issue that municipalities should participate in the management bodies of the areas of health and the duty to verify the adequacy of the actions in the area of ​​health standards and guidelines of health policy and economic.
