Los Moros and Cristianos Dénia present their program and poster of the Fiestas that will make history

This afternoon the 2019 Moors and Christians Festival program will be presented in the City Hall, as well as its poster. Representatives of each filà, the captains of the Moors and Christians, Esperanza Cheli and Paloma Grua, the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, presented by the Councilor for Fiestas, Óscar Mengual, and led by the president of the FEMMICC, were present at the event Rafa Cheli

Cheli has thanked the attendees and personalities present for all the effort they make to make the parties go ahead every year, highlighting the importance of the Moors and Christians of 2019 for being the first time in history in which the captains Mora and Christian are women. He has also been in charge of revealing the name of this year's crier, Miguel Ángel Fullana, who said he was very excited, grateful for the opportunity and excited, because, in his words, «más no puede pedir alguien siendo festero».

Toni Ortolà, who has been in charge of illustrating the poster of the Moors and Christians of 2019, has shown this to the public. It is, according to the author, the scene of a battle for the conquest of Dénia, represented in the pulse of a Moorish and Christian hand to be done by the Torre del Gerro. But, says Ortolà, he considers the battle as that of «dos personas que pelean por un vaso de cerveza y acaban bebiendo juntos».

Program Moors and Christians

Then, Rafa Cheli has proceeded to read the official program of the Fiestas, which will start on Saturday 3 in August, but it will not be until Tuesday 13 that the Moro landing takes place, ending the week on Friday 16 with a castle of Fireworks in the harbor.

As a novelty, after the children's parade on Wednesday 14 will be the traditional entrance of bands, but this time the groups of each side will join together to play together the same marches, whether they are blackberry or Christian.
