The first meeting of the Tourism and Commerce Commission of the Cercle Empresarial of the Marina Alta held on Tuesday in Dénia left on the table a claim by the businessmen, who again insist on the suitability of installing the bus station at the Station Maritime

Several months ago, the Baleària shipping company announced the free transfer of its space so that it is where the necessary Dénia bus station is installed, but the previous government decided to bet on the Torrecremada area, finally ruled out by the current government of Vicent Grimalt .

From the CEDMA consider that the Baleària proposal is a solution "viable and necessary" to improve infrastructure and the volume of passenger traffic of Denia and the Marina Alta.

The county entrepreneurs remember that transport travelers from the center of Denia to the bus station could be performed free of charge aboard the solar boat the Panseta and the proposal of the shipping would involve placing more stops throughout the city, although the center would be to the maritime station.

Pedestrianization of Calle Marqués de Campo

During the meeting the idea of peatonalizar the main commercial artery of the city was also discussed. In this regard, from the CEDMA they conclude that the municipal government should conduct a thorough study before taking any action.

From CEDMA proposes to improve the signage and take advantage of existing parking and expand places if possible, encourage its use through measures such as discounts by local businesses, reorganize traffic and regularize the loading and unloading facilitating the work to transporters.

In this regard, at the meeting the idea of creating an association of merchants that is capable of agglutinating the collective and coordinating joint activities, which can take part in the decision to pedestrianize Marqués de Campo street, was put on the table.

During the meeting also it decided to create greater comarcalidad. From the CEDMA put as an example the new direction being taken by the candidacy of Dénia a gastronomic city of UNESCO, adding the brand name Marina Alta.
