The students of the degree of Gastronomy of the University of Alicante begin the classes in Dénia

The students of the degree of Gastronomy of the University of Alicante will be in contact with the gastronomic and food sector of the Marina Alta during the period of regular classes at the Dénia headquarters.

The students, who have started their stay on Monday 28 in January, will complete the academic sessions in the CdT Marina Alta de Dénia classrooms with activities that will allow them to know the cuisine, gastronomic traditions and the agricultural landscape of the region, while will come into contact with the daily practice of restaurants and agrifood companies.

The Office of Innovation and Creativity, in coordination with the University of Alicante and Gasterra, has programmed the extra-academic hours that are concentrated in three days:

Tuesday, January 29

• 9: 30 hours: Project exhibition Dénia & Marina Alta Tastinglife linked to the Creative City of UNESCO in charge of the Office of Innovation and Creativity.
• 11: 30 hours: Round table on experiences of the gastronomic sector in the Marina Ata. Participate:
  Fernando González, chef, vice president of AEHTMA and manager of the El Raset Group.
  Carolina Álvarez, responsible for training of young chefs from Quique Dacosta Restaurant.
  Antonio Cidoncha, businessman Cidoncha Artesanas.
  Raquel López, young baker and designer of desserts Gelart.
• 13: 00 hours: Showcooking of traditional seafood cuisine by Bati Bordes, from the El Marino restaurant (Dénia)

Monday, February 4 - High Marine Experience

• 9: 30 hours: Pick up of students at the Dénia bus station.
• 10: 15 11-: 00 hours: Visit Marjal Pego. Talk by the technicians of the Natural Park.
• 11: 00 12-: 00 hours: Bus route through the region.
• 12: 00 13-: 30 hours: Visit and tasting at the Cooperativa de Xaló.
• 13: 30 hours: Return to Dénia.

Tuesday, February 7 - Dénia Gastronómica

• 8: 45 hours: Meeting of the students with the rector of the University of Alicante, the mayor of Dénia and other municipal representatives.
• 10: 00 - 13: 00 hours: Walk through Dénia
• 13: 30 hours: Buffet prepared by the students of the CDT
