Institutional declaration signed

"Given the threat that seismic surveys would pose in order to find oil deposits off the Valencian coast, the Xarxa d'Alcaldes de la Marina Alta urges the Ministry of Industry of the Government of Spain to immediately halt the project to consider that the projected surveys are contrary to the productive structure of the region and do not entail any type of economic and social benefit for its inhabitants, since the extraction of hydrocarbons will not entail neither more wealth nor more employment.

We also consider that the industrial exploitation of marine underground resources constitutes a clear threat to the economy and productive structure of the Marina Alta region, since it poses a certain risk to vital sectors of the local economy such as tourism, fishing and fishing. the gastronomy.

Polls themselves represent a geological disturbance with unforeseeable consequences that will affect high-value marine ecosystems, impacting on environmental, economic and social situation of our environment.
