The works force to modify the route and scenarios of the festivities of Moors and Christians
Dénia is already preparing for the Moors and Christians festivities in honor of Sant Roc. From August 3 to 16, the city will immerse itself fully in its past, to let the troops of the crescent face, in a festive atmosphere, the troops of the cross.
The president of the FEMMICC, Rafa Cheli, detailed the details of this year's program in an act that was held in the Puerto Deportivo Marina de Dénia in the presence of the first troop of all the filaes of Dénia, the party councilor, Óscar Mengual; the captains and flag bearers this year; the author of the poster, Jaume Pastor, and the proclaimer of this year's festivities, Amparo Mata.
Change of scenarios and routes
This year, the parties will change scenarios. The works in the center of Dénia force to modify the route of the parades and change the acts of the Plaza del Consell to a new location.

This year, as a novelty, the FEMMICC will have the collaboration of a veterinarian who will review the papers of the animals that participate in the parade, as well as their riders and caregivers, before they go out to parade. Also, at the end of the tour, they will check the status of all of them again.
Parade and landing in streaming
The federation makes a strong commitment this year to new technologies. The day of the disembarkation will be installed a led screen of 12 square meters by which the act will be transmitted to three cameras and in several languages. In addition, the gala parade can be seen streaming through Facebook Live.
Amparo Mata, announcer 2018
The task of proclaiming the Moors and Christians celebrations in honor of Sant Roc falls this year to the Alkamar Amparo Mata party, who was also president of the then Association of Moors and Christians of Dénia during two years.

The program of events

El Sunday 5 day of August The traditional paella contest organized by the Mayorales de Sant Roc will take place, on Marqués de Campo street from 12: 00 at noon.
