13 March 2015 - 15: 51

The councilor for Urban Planning and Finance of the City Council of Dénia Vicente Chelet appeared this Friday at noon to inform the media about the agreements of the last government meeting of the consistory where they highlighted as points of the day a project to improve facilities in the sports complex facing to the next Minijocs that are held in May and the approval of the land expropriation agreements next to the Carmelite school.

Another point of the government board was the implementation of the safety and sewerage plan in the social housing of the avenue of Alcoy number 2 and 4, since the neighbors had made an application because when the works of conditioning of the Sewer was a slope.

The enclosure of the municipal sports center

The city council plans to allocate some 200.000 euros plus VAT to adapt the municipal sports facilities in the face of the next Minijocs in May. In particular, a closure of the center has been approved for safety reasons for children. It will also remove a median wall separating the athletic track from what is the central promenade. There will be outside the enclosure of the facilities the trinquet with the bar and the municipal swimming pool. The enclosure will be with two doors for access.

Salt residues from the water treatment plant

Another measure that has seen the light refers to the Racons water treatment plant. Chelet stated that since 1992 letters have been received from the Hydrographic Confederation denouncing that the plant still has to solve the excess salt waste. The mayor confirmed that the City Council has sent a letter to the confederation in which they affirm that "the water treatment plant cannot be closed" and added that they are studying a solution to avoid creating an underwater outfall for salt to the sea that would cost 2,5 million. The technical proposal that is being studied would have lower costs and would consist more or less of depositing the waste in a water well. This would cause the brine to spread through the land to reach the sea.

Port area works

The City Council has also approved the project to carry out works on the remaining port section and from where the bullring is installed to Calle Campos. The previous negative report has been corrected and the works would begin shortly to finish them before the summer. The current lanes are maintained.

Decrease in municipal debt

The councilor of the Treasury and spokesperson for the government board also wanted to highlight at a budgetary level that the outstanding debt that the City Council has with the banks at the end of 2015 will be below 25 million euros. Chelet stated that “it is a very high decrease. Municipal debt will remain below 50%. "These are data that are not known in democracy."
