The improvements in the new zone of the municipal cemetery become the most voted project of the participatory budgets
Last Monday, 28 in January, the neighborhood participation deadline to choose the projects to be executed within the Participatory Budgeting of 2019 ended. This year, the second that this vote was called, tripled the participation with respect to the previous year. In total, they have voted 3.028 people who have issued a total of 4.384 votes.
It should be remembered that the participants in the process could vote 2 proposals for city projects and other 2 proposals referred to the neighborhood they chose, from a range of 41 validated options.
The eleven most voted projects, which will be implemented thanks to a game that will be around 200.000 euros in 2019, include two city projects and the most voted projects in each of the nine neighborhoods of Dénia.

City projects
- Improvements in the new area of the municipal cemetery (1.584 votes): placement of a system of shading, landscaping, banks and litter bins in the new (disseminated) area of the municipal cemetery, with an estimated execution budget of 40.000 euros.
- New climbing wall for free climbing: the creation of a climbing wall for the practice of free climbing, a project initially budgeted at 30.000 euros.

- Baix la Mar-Darrere: Solving the widening of Marines Street (31 votes), valued at 6.000 euros
- La Faroleta: Improvements in the plaza and playground of Elx Street (62 votes), valued at 3.000 euros
- Les Marines: Improvements in the Parc de Les Bassetes (64 votes), for 15.000 euros
- Montgó: Sidewalks and lampposts in the Camí Nadaletes (90 votes), for 6.000 euros
- Oeste-Campaments: Improvements in the parking lot next to the bus station (82 votes), valued at 30.000 euros
- Les Roques: Improvements in the garden area of C / Santísima Trinidad (65 votes), valued at 10.000 euros
- Les Rotes: Road improvements in Les Rotes (89 votes), for 5.000 euros
- Saladar: Replacement of luminaires in the Pedreguer street by other Led types (65 votes), budgeted at 6.000 euros
Execution time
Once the accounts for the new fiscal year have been approved, the projects will begin to be drafted for their subsequent tender and must be executed, or at least initiated, during this 2019.
Regarding the degree of execution of the proposals of participatory budgets of the 2018 exercise, the councilor for participation, Óscar Mengual, recalled that, of a total of 10 projects chosen by the citizens, 8 were executed and completed during 2018 and the remaining two, The Calistenia Park and Street Workout in the municipal sports center and the healthy parks of Miguel Hernández Avenue and the Parc Chabàs, were launched and will end shortly.
