Failures take to the streets to celebrate, with cucañas and paellas, your day at the Festival of Dénia

12 July 2016 - 16: 45

As is tradition, Tuesday of the week of celebrations in Dénia is the day dedicated to the fallas. A day that begins refreshing, with the tour of falleros and falleras through the city to participate in the cucañas organized by each commission. To do this, young and old carry water pistols with which they play throughout the ride.

The commissions have met in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento first thing in the morning, where the cucaña organized by the Local Fallera Board has been held, in which the positions of each Fallera commission have participated. After this first cucaña, the route began, which ended at around 14:00 p.m. at the Centro fault.

The next one was Calle Marqués de Campo, where representatives of all the Fallas districts participated in the paella competition organized by the Local Fallera Board. A specialist jury, selected by Aehtma and presided by the Falleras Mayores de Dénia, Inés Alacreu and Mar Cabrera, was in charge of testing the eleven paellas. Tonight, during the celebration of the Day of the Fallas, we will know the winning paella.

Valencian cuisine exhibition

Parallel to the celebration of the paellas contest, several local associations have participated, also in Calle Marques de Campo, in a display of Valencian cuisine in which they live paellas made for everyone.

The participants were the Comissió de Festes de Santíssima Trinitat; the Comissió de Festes del Carrer Sant Pere; the PSOE; the filà Amiries; filà Berber pirates; Casa Castilla la Mancha and the House of Andalusia.
