La Vía will host from this Friday the fruit and vegetable market
The City Council of Dénia has decided to move the fruit and vegetable market that is held in the city on Fridays to La Vía street to guarantee the hygiene and safety conditions established by the Ministry of Health during the state of alarm caused by COVID- 19 and that it was unfeasible to meet at its usual location on Calle Magallanes.
The market will be installed in La Vía street, in the section between Cándida Carbonell street (Museu del Joguet) and Diana street, from this Friday, May 8, in its normal schedule. There will be a total of 39 sales stalls, which will keep the distances established in the resolution of the Ministry. That is, there will be 6 meters of distance between the two rows of stalls; 2,5 meters between the sides of each stop; the vendors of the same stall will keep 2 meters of separation between them and they will also leave 2 meters of separation between the customers, who cannot touch the genre, and the stall.
The Department of Markets, in collaboration with the Local Police, has designed a device to control market access to monitor the influx to avoid crowds.
The entrance will be through the Museu dels Joguets and the exit through Diana street. Users will only be able to move in one direction, which will be marked on the ground with road paint. In addition, two emergency exits will be enabled, bounded by fences, the intersection of La Vía with Carlos Street Sentí.
To carry out these surveillance and control tasks, a local police patrol will be assigned; City Hall custodians, who will be located at the entrance and will be in charge of keeping the count of people and providing the public with hydroalcoholic gel and the necessary protection elements; and a game of 8 Civil Protection volunteers who will be stationed at the access through Cándida Carbonell, the Diana street exit, the two emergency exits and will also walk inside the market.
