The veteran athlete Lili Rivas Arias was proclaimed as the best Dianense athlete of the year 2018, at the Sports Gala held at the Social Center.
A lot of emotion in the auditorium until Silvia Bordés, the winner in the previous edition, who is currently studying and playing tennis, at the Unirversidad de Florida, did not reveal by videoconference the name of the winner. The award-winning, very excited, took the stage to receive from the hands of the mayor, Vicent Grimalt and the mayor of sports, Vicent Crespo, the work of the Dianense sculptor, Modesto Marí, who credits her as the best athlete of the 2018.
All athletes and entities that were recognized for their work and achievements during the 2017 season were paraded around the stage.
The Gala was chaired by the mayor, who also accompanied other councilors of the City of Dianense. Most of the clubs that have the city were present, something to praise especially those who this time were left without collecting any of the awards.
The event, which was conducted by the journalist Francoise Crespo, began with a small welcome from the mayor of sports, which among other things said that "from our council will always be helping all clubs and athletes in the municipality, you can always knock at our door that you need it and you will always be taken care of ".
One of the great ovations that the public paid during the event was for Ángeles Martín, who at her 90 and a few years old, is still one of the students who works at the Adult Activity School.
