The palliative care unit of the Hospital de Dénia serves more than 400 people a year

In order to preserve the dignity of the patient, their autonomy and that of their family, the Dénia Hospital has a multidisciplinary team in the Palliative Care Unit, in charge of treating terminal patients in the last stage of their lives.

Palliative Unit of the Hospital of Dénia was one of the first to be established, along with the Hospital of Alcoy and has been distinguished and honored countless times for its quality comprehensive patient care.

These patients receive care at home through the Home Hospitalization Unit -UHD- in your Health Center, in primary care, or the hospital itself. For them there for doctors, nurses and a social worker who develop custom programs that address both the physical aspects, such as emotional and social.

In 2014, Palliative Unit of Hospital de Dénia served more than 400 people through a thousand queries. The 36% of care were conducted by teams UHD in the home. In addition Nursing also conducted telephone follow more than 300 patients.
