February 17 from 2018 - 07: 58

The tennis player, Silvia Bordes Casellés, was proclaimed as the best Dianense athlete of the year 2017, in the Sports Gala, held at the Social Center.

An award given by the votes of the clubs and the Dianenses media. The winner was not able to collect her award when she was in the United States, where she has been granted a scholarship by an American university for several months. It was his sister and grandfather who were in charge of collecting the trophy.

Olegario Casellés, grandfather of the winner, thanked her granddaughter for her prize, who was following the mobile phone with great attention and emotion.

It was the gymnast, Laura Crespo, last awarded as best athlete, in charge of opening the envelope containing the name of the winner.

Excited farewell Marián Tamarit

This event that brought together the world of Dianense sport served as the stage for the farewell of the mayor of sports, Marián Tamarit, who next week in full will present his resignation as councilman. Tamarit said goodbye excitedly to all those present to whom he thanked his collaboration throughout his term. I wish his successor, Vicent Crespo, good luck, and he told them, “you can count on me for everything you need, I will always be with all of you".

All athletes and entities that were recognized for their work and achievements during the 2017 season were paraded around the stage.

The Gala was chaired by the mayor, Vicent Grimalt who addressed those present to encourage them to continue practicing sports. She praised the work done by the mayor of sports to which she thanked that in difficult moments she has always managed to get ahead and congratulated her for recovering the Sports Gala.

One of the great ovations that the attendees paid was for Jimy Higueras, who was awarded by the sports council for the great work he does in the Municipal School of Adapted Sports and his association of Condemned to Curb.
