Receipt of the Christian captaincy Dénia reminds the parties are close

The festivities of Moors and Christians in Dénia are heating up for the big week, which will be celebrated between 13 and 16 days in August. On the night of Tuesday, more than a hundred festeros gathered in the Plaza Valgamendiós, next to the chasm of the Filà Deniers, captaincy 2013, to celebrate the reception of the Christian captaincy.

The meeting was attended by 2013, José Vicente Ivars and Rafa Cheli, along with their flag-bearers, Ana Adela pastor and Adela Marzà; the mayor of Dénia, Ana Kringe, the councilor for parties, Paco Arnau; the president of the AMMICC, Josele Maldonado, and the Fallera Mayor de Dénia, Sara Femenía.

After dinner, and accompanied by the Dianense brass band Toca't un ou and the Unió Musical d'Orba, the revelers paraded through Pare Pere, Glorieta and Marqués de Campo streets, where a large audience that was finishing dinner enjoyed with the festive show.

The next date with the party is Thursday night, when the captaincy dwells, the Filà Abencerrajes, celebrate its reception and repeat the festero parade.
