The APAD animal shelter, in danger of disappearing
The APAD (Dénia Association for the Protection of Animals) is going through hard times of misgovernment. The president of the association, Michel Maquet, was replaced from his position and is currently denied his usual duties in his fight against animal abandonment. Denia.com had the opportunity to meet privately with Maquet and he explained the situation from his point of view. In addition, he contributed dozens of official documents that deny certain accusations against him, as well as accounting books and acts that reconstruct the facts chronologically.
In the assembly of the aPad 16 May 2011, Maquet expelled the four members of the board of the group of members (Monika Freund, Peter Franz, Marion Vogt and Hiltrud Mohr) for accusing the President, during the same meeting, robber. Previously, after checking firsthand accounts, they had already recognized their mistake and described the incident as a "minor misunderstanding". The output of these members of the association was disproved in court for not following the right steps."[…] I was wrong. I recognize that, because of ignorance, I did not according to protocols established by law "'says the president. The four members were readmitted and began an open war. In it, the four votes of the members weigh more than the three vows of Maquet and the rest of the directive.
In this context, the members felt they had sufficient power and carried out various actions against the will of the president. Maquet assures that they changed the locks of the work place of the APAD and even went to the bank with a document, signed by themselves, to exercise full powers over the account of the association. Meanwhile, they managed to publish various articles in the press accusing the president of mistreatment, neglecting the animals, retaliation against the German members of the association, not carrying out the regular meetings established and taking money and goods from the coffers of the association; among other actions that, supposedly, Maquet has carried out.
In the accounts, which Maquet has taught several times who has requested it, you can see that in the summer of 2006 the APAD was going to disappear because it lacked the necessary funds. In the minutes of the last meeting the former president, Roland Ingold, he is concerned about the lack of resources (€ 723 account) and announced the imminent demise of the APAD. At that time, nobody wanted to take over the management and Maquet relieved Ingold in office. So now president of the association began to seek improvements in relations with the consistory and manage the first grants and material assistance. As for the collection service animals and care of them, Maquet is personally directed to drop points and paying the call of APAD. All this in a 24h hours a day for every day of the year 365. The result today: 3.130 € balance accounts at the expense of collecting the agreement 36.000 € with City Hall and a second payment of 10.000 € for service animals collection, representing an economic growth of 48.407 € in the Asociation.
Finally, include sending extra copies to various native animals conservation parks and zoos that APAD has made during the term of Michel Maquet. Species that has not been able to give them optimal care from municipal facilities and improve conditions which has been fully managed by the association.
The president confessed that he believes the new self-proclaimed leaders of the APAD will have the same dedication.
Maquet acclaims sanity and demands a quick general meeting with all partners
Michel Maquet demands a quick general meeting in which it is clarified, by voting, who will be in charge of directing the association. Otherwise, warn, the City Council will get tired of waiting for a solution. "Because of this mismatch, the councilor Javier Ygarza called me surprised and warned me that if this situation is not solved the tap will be cut and a kennel will be assembled". This issue one that most concerns Maquet, because, think over a power struggle in the association are animals. Opened a kennel, animals lose their right to redistribution and therefore the right to embark on a new journey with a family that can give them a good future.
