Prime Minister of the United Kingdom recognizes a volunteer Help Dénia & Marina Alta

January 04 from 2017 - 13: 35

Candida Wright has been a volunteer for the Help Dénia & Marina Alta association for 30 years, an entity that accompanies British citizens during their hospitalization at the Regional Hospital. In addition, Candida has helped create a reception center for women in Benissa, participates in a care center for minors in Dénia, is a volunteer at a shelter for homeless people in Gandia, directs the amateur theater group Careline Theater Group, which raises funds for medical centers in the area, and presents a program on a local station in English.

Now, this work has been recognized, neither more nor less, than by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Theresa May. Candida Wright will receive the award Point of Light, an award given to volunteers "outstanding, capable of transforming their communities and of being a source of inspiration for others".

In the case of Wright, the British government claims that its work "It has been fundamental to transform this NGO from a simple hospital visits service to a formidable organization that manages several solidarity stores, finances temporary care and directs several support groups".

Candida has also received a personal letter from Theresa May herself stating that "You have dedicated a lot of time to work in local charities in Spain. Specifically, your dedication to Help has been essential so that the organization could offer its services to even more needy people".

After hearing the news, the protagonist showed "Very excited to receive this recognition. Dedicating time to others is very important to me, as it is an activity that fills me. I look forward to continuing to work as a volunteer for a long time, with the valuable support of my family and friends.".
