The Plaza Valgamediós in Dénia has finally been reopened to the public after the completion of phase 2 of some works that have taken longer than expected. These works were projected in 2017 and a second phase began last January that was not originally planned.
The new square has a single platform at the same level, which makes it an accessible and safe space for all citizens. Although the part of the work is completed, the placement of some elements such as planters, litter bins, benches and children's games is still missing. However, everything indicates that they will wait for the Fallas to pass to complete the work.
In fact, that is the best news, since this reopening comes just in time for the celebration of the Fallas de Dénia this month, since it is in the place where the West Falla monument has to be erected again.
The residents and visitors of Dénia, therefore, will be able to enjoy the renovated square during the Fallas festivals and thereafter. With this reform, it has been possible to modernize and improve the infrastructure of the emblematic place, making it more accessible and safer for pedestrians, although it has not been a project free of controversy as it has involved the elimination of several parking spaces.
