The beach for dogs of Dénia comes into operation with the arrival of summer

With the arrival of summer this Thursday, 21 in June, there was also a new season for the Dénia dog beach, located in the port area. During the week we worked from the Department of Beaches of the City of Dénia in the conditioning of the area, whose use is defined for this purpose in the summer season.

The beach for dogs was a vindication of animal groups and animal lovers, who claimed an area in Dénia where they could go with their pets. The claim was championed by the then Councilor for Citizens, Mari Martínez, who brought the feelings of the group to the town hall.

Finally, and after several locations studied, the port area was chosen for three reasons: the proximity to the urban area, which facilitates the transportation of pets there; the fact that it is a sandy beach, recommended in front of the rocky beaches; and that it is not an area with blue flag, a recognition incompatible with the use of the beach for dogs.

The goal was achieved halfway because, as we mentioned above, the use of this space as a beach for dogs is limited to the summer months. And the reason is none other than the care of the Black-footed Chorlitejo, a species that abounds in that area of ​​which the nesting season must be respected.
