Platform Affected by Mortgage and town hall unite against evictions

Representatives of the Platform for People Affected by the Mortgage of Dénia and Marina Alta met yesterday at the town hall with the mayor, Ana Kringe, and the councilor for social welfare, Pepa Sivera, to coordinate the actions to follow in the event of eviction.

At the meeting the creation of a joint monitoring committee, whose first meeting is scheduled within two weeks and will be setting the actions to be agreed. The expected frequency is semimonthly, although it depends on the cases and affected people there at all times.

The mayor promised to meet with the directors of banks that have signed the agreement for the establishment of the Social Housing Fund, which last January also joined the City Council Dénia, to study the situation of the award of housing Dénia families in especially vulnerable situations who have lost their residence as a result of a foreclosure process.

Likewise, and after the request of the platform, Kringe will meet with the senior judge and with representatives of the Bar Association to act as mediator before the courts and with the Security Forces that intervene in cases of eviction.
