For a few months, the life of the dianense, Verónica Mengual, has changed. From a journalist, a profession she currently practices, to a writer of romantic literature. A colonel for Lady Briana It is Mengual's new novel that will be presented to the public, this Saturday, February 15, 2020, at the Dénia Public Library. A new story with which he hopes to reap good reviews, make the reader enjoy and, most importantly, get a place in the literary world.
For Verónica, this is the first book that will be released in Spain, but the truth is that, since she began her career as an author last October with the launch of Lady V. does not want to marry by the hand of the Argentine publisher Vestales, the literary proposals have not stopped reaching him.
Now, in the hands of the publishing house based in the Balearic Islands, Romantic Editions, the dianense launches its new work of fiction based on the romanticism of the period, specifically, a story located around the English Regency of the nineteenth century, a thread of its editions.
«Estoy muy contenta con este lanzamiento, al fin tengo una novela que mis allegados van a poder disfrutar, puesto que la primera que lancé no ha llegado a España, aunque no pierdo la ilusión de que alguna gran editorial pueda exportar los derechos hasta aquí».

Mengual points out that although his works are similar in terms of the basis of the story, «intento hacer cosas diferente cuando escribo, pero el hilo conductor es siempre la relación entre la pareja que forman un hombre y una mujer. La ambientación que creo es una época donde abundan los condes, los duques y las grandes damas. Hay que tener en cuenta que hablamos de un momento muy machista donde los derechos de las mujeres son apenas inexistentes, son propiedad del hombre. En mis libros también es así, pero ellas no van a ser ni dóciles ni sumisas, por eso la lectura debe hacerse en clave feminista, porque son protagonistas fuertes con las ideas claras».

Al final de todo el trayecto, yo creo que lo importante es que lean tu historia, si luego no gusta, perfecto y si les gusta, mejor que mejor, pero lo que quiero es que me lean y me den una oportunidad. No a todos nos gustan las mismas cosas ¿verdad?», añade la joven autora dianense.
