The best avant-garde cod recipe is served in Dénia

This week the I Contest 'The Best Cod in Spain' was held in Zamora in which the Peix i Brases Restaurant in Dénia won the first prize in the avant-garde category. In the traditional recipe category, the award went to the Restaurant of Santiago de Compostela, Solleiros.

The Dianenses restaurant was the best among the more than 200 restaurants registered in this first edition. Of course, the best of the prizes for the establishment of Dénia is to have this recognition, although the contest has also awarded a prize of 1.000 euros, 18 kilos of El Barquero Gourmet Selection cod and four boxes of DO Alimentos de Zamora wine.

During the contest, all participants had the opportunity to present themselves with dishes and tapas prepared for both categories: traditional and innovative. The recipes were made with cod from extractive fishing, with lines and hooks.
