La Marina Alta 27.900 receive flu shots this year

With the arrival of autumn and changes in temperature, there is also the influenza vaccination campaign, which this year in the Marina Alta will reach 27.900 people. They are the total of doses with which the Dénia health department has to distribute among patients with chronic diseases, pregnant women, socio-health professionals and those older than 60.

Health authorities raised esste year two objectives: firstly to increase coverage in the population over 64 years 60% up and maintain vaccination rates above 50% in health professionals.

This year has enabled more than 50 points throughout the region, divided between Health Centers, Clinics Auxiliary, Private Clinics, mutuals, residences and Senior Services Occupational Health and Safety.

Although the flu virus has not yet reached the Marina Alta, authorities encourage the population to be vaccinated in time for immunization is effective time.

The vaccination campaign against influenza 2016-2017 presented at the Health Center of Benissa. In the campaign last year, the Health Department Dénia provided 27.159 dose in the whole entire region, with vaccination coverage that came in the group of over 64 years, almost 50% and healthcare personnel, 72%, far exceeding the targets set.
