The Fallera Local Board celebrates in Valencia on the IV Anniversary of the declaration of the Fallas as Intangible Heritage of Humanity
Last Friday, December 11, the Fallera Mayor of Dénia, Safir Malonda, accompanied by the 3rd vice president, Juan Ots Llácer, attended the commemoration of the IV Anniversary of the Declaration of the Fallas as Intangible Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO organized by Junta Central Fallera. For this, JCF prepared a series of acts and events, adapting them to the health circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some of them digitally through social networks.
«En la actualidad, relacionamos el patrimonio con aquello tangible, ocupando un lugar físico capaz de ser tocado y visible. Pues bien, los valencianos estamos acostumbrados a ver cambiar por unos días la rutina de nuestros pueblos y ciudades. Recordamos en nuestras memorias las grandes obras maestras devoradas por las llamas del fuego, reduciéndose a cenizas y, con esto, damos la bienvenida en la primavera», they point out from the Local Fallera Board of Dénia.

«Porque somos el resultado de un conocimiento ancestral concreto, de una manera concreta de entender la vida, y solo protegiéndonos y cuidándonos, el material podrá volver a resurgir de las cenizas, recibiendo la nueva estación que precede en el gélido invierno y será porque el patrimonio inmaterial e inmortal habrá permanecido año tras año»adds the JLF.
