War of bicycles in Dénia
In the absence of less than a month to finish the deadline to submit allegations to the regulations of the General Municipal Ordinance on Traffic, Vehicle Circulation and road safety, the war of bicycles is still open in the city.
Some political parties have already expressed themselves in favor of the new regulations, others, on the other hand, have been quick to present allegations to the aforementioned regulations, as is the case with the PSOE.
The Socialists ask in their allegation, that it be possible to circulate at a moderate speed, in the pedestrian zone of Marineta Casiana, the Paseo de Les Rotes and the streets Marqués de Campo and La Vía, respecting pedestrians until sidewalks are enabled- Bikes delimited for circulation in these pedestrian areas.
The Citizens Dénia group has manifested itself in support of the regulation, considering that it contains all the sufficient elements for the regulation of bicycle traffic on any road in the population. Although they advocate the construction of a bike lane, on the Paseo de la Marineta Casiana.
For his part, Miguel Sivera, president of the Dénia Cycling Club, is in favor of regularizing and marking some guidelines for coexistence between pedestrians and cyclists. It supports the regulations although it clarifies that speed must be regulated in areas such as Marineta Casiana and the Paseo de Les Rotes.
Manuel Díaz, president of the Montgó Cycling Union Club, announces that they are going to present allegations, although he has also requested a meeting with the local police chief to know what actions and where they will act in terms of sanctions.
He needs to be thoroughly explained before making decisions. Although it announces the possibility of carrying out some mobilizations among its members, if the allegations are not taken into account.
The problem of the use of bicycles that exists, in the spirit of dialogue, can be solved in just one month, when after receiving the relevant allegations, study and reach an understanding for the regularization.
In the city, both bicycle lovers and pedestrians can live together, it is simply a matter of adapting the zones so that this can be carried out.
Some have wanted to see all the commotion that has formed with the war of the bicycles as a totally electoralist subject, although it calls powerfully the attention that some months ago, a project was realized like was presented like Cyclingdénia where the use of the bikes.
