The Government will allocate initial 175.000 euros for urgent action in the Montgó

The Director General of the Natural Environment, Salomé Pradas, announced this morning in Dénia that the Generalitat will allocate 175.000 initial euros, which could be extended, for the urgent actions that have to be carried out in the Natural Park of Montgó after the fire of last week.

According to the director, that money is expected to arrive within a maximum period of fifteen days to begin the urgent work and be carried out by public enterprises Vaersa or Tragsa.

Pradas has released this information after a meeting held with the mayors of Dénia and Xàbia, Ana Kringe and José Chulvi, and the director of the Montgó Natural Park, Carlos Linares, who have kept them at the Montgó Interpretation Center urgently after accessing the first report made by the environmental technicians of the Generalitat. This report has helped to make a joint assessment of the repercussions of the fire and has revealed the most urgent needs.

Among the actions to be taken, which will begin work next week, is the fight against erosion hill by repairing walls; the defense of forests to the potential risk of pests always declared after a fire, road repair, installation of drinking fountains to encourage wildlife and repair margins and terraces.

Salomé Pradas also announced it will open communication channels with residents affected by the fire at Les Rotes and Les Planes. It will be next week when he meets with those affected to inform them of the actions to be taken in the natural park week and environmental restoration "be a reality as soon as possible". Reforestation will have to wait

Convene a special Governing Board of the Montgó

At the meeting this morning participants have agreed to hold a Governing Board extraordinary in the maximum period of one month in order to have more data collected on new reports and learn news about the cause of the fire, which at the moment is not determined . Until that time distinas meetings with neighbors will remain.

The Director General further explained that the brigades will strengthen conservation and maintenance of the reserve.

Not recommend walking the paths most affected

Park director, Carlos Linares said they will begin an information campaign so that users do not pass the paths most affected by the fire as the camí de la Cova Tallada, the route of the Torre del Gerro to the mills of Javea, the rise Tangó Creek to Cape San Antonio and from the recreational area to the monastery of Les Planes.

"We cannot prohibit people from traveling through these areas, but we will recommend that they be done on the paths enabled and not on the burned grounds"Said the director of the park.
