Red Gamba, who starred in a contest of creative cuisine

Every day the big bet is clearer than the tourism department of the City of Dénia is doing for the local cuisine. Now, within the project Dénia, Gastronómica City, It has opened the call to register for the I International competition Creative Cuisine Red Gamba de Dénia.

This is a proposal driven by chef Rafa Soler, the restaurant Joël Bistronomic, which has the support of the City, the Fishermen's Association and the Association of tourism entrepreneurs and hoteliers AETHMA.

The contest will be held on March 6 in the Mercat Municipal, where, as cooking show, Applicants prepare dishes for 3 hours a cuisines especially for this purpose mounted. Participants must provide all the necessary ingredients for your dish except red shrimp, which will be borne by the Fishermen's Association.

The competition jury is full of great names related to national gastronomy. The president will be Quique Dacosta and will be with him Cuchita Lluch, president of the Academy of Gastronomy of the Valencian Community; Javier Antoja, journalist and director of the gastronomic magazine Apicius; José Carlos Capel, gastronomic critic and director of Madrid Fusión and Julia Pérez Lozano, gastronomic journalist.

Both the councilor for tourism, Pepa Font, and the mayor of Dénia, Ana Kringe, present at the presentation, have been very satisfied with the work that is being done to ensure that Dénia is declared a UNESCO Gastronomic City with projects as big as this contest.

The promoter of the idea, Rafa Soler, explained that there are three prizes: first endowed with 1.000 euros, a second of 500 euros and a third prize of EUR 300, all by the City of Dénia.

Reme Cerdá, of AETHMA, stressed that any proposal that is «de calidad, seria y con propósito de continuidad como la que hoy se ha presentado tendrá nuestro respaldo».
