The Amics Gala Pedrera celebrated the importance of the participation of volunteers and associations

On Saturday May 28 was held in the Auditorium of Els Poblets the 6 Gala Amics of the Pedrera, in which the health center thanks year after year the work of the groups and entities that collaborate selflessly with the residents.

The event was attended by the Regional Director of Health of Alicante, Emilia Rodríguez, Mayor of Els Poblets, Salvador Sendra Gasquet, and the Director of the Hospital La Pedrera, Jaume Morera Guitart.

Territorial Director acknowledged the importance of voluntary associations and collaborating with the hospital, because "In addition to the professionals, citizen participation is essential, and this act that has been carried out since 2010, is a faithful reflection and example of society's commitment and involvement with the public health system". The representative of the Department acknowledged that "Their collaboration and support benefit not only the health system but the entire society as a whole".

The center's director, meanwhile, acknowledged that "This act symbolizes the gratitude of the Hospital that for years has also been formed by professionals for a third element, which are all those people, organizations and associations that make the stay in our hospital as human as possible".

Then proceeded to the delivery of acknowledgments to the 120 groups that have collaborated with the chronic hospital in the last year, such as Caritas Dénia, Cáritas Pedreguer, Help, Red Cross (Alacant, Xàbia, Calp, Dénia, Teulada); theater and musical groups, and companies that have donated material to the hospital. All of them received a certificate of accreditation and a detail of recognition for their proven altruistic collaboration.

The event featured the performance of the Unió Musical de Els Poblets and ended with a video with images of the most relevant and emotional moments of the past editions and the performance of the batucada Ondaratack.
