Dénia Foundation organizes a series of conferences on sport and values

The Dénia Foundation has promoted the organization of a cycle of conferences on sport and values ​​coordinated by Juan Antonio Mestre Sancho, doctor in Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport from the Catholic University of Valencia. The Sports Department of the Dénia City Council and the Baleària Foundation collaborate in the initiative.

The talks are intended, as indicated by the president of the Fundació Dénia, Alberto Morera "return to the first tasks that the foundation developed in its origins " aimed at highlighting the importance of values ​​in sports.

Conference cycle calendar

The lecture series, aimed at parents, sports technicians, begins on Friday 15 in January with a talk by the professor of the University of Valencia Vicente Carratalá about the "reasons that induce parents to introduce their children in sports"For Carratalá, these main factors are socialization, physical training, competition as an element of self-improvement, self-control as an aspect of overcoming personal barriers and education.

The following talk, aimed at a more technical audience, will address the figure of "sports technicians to educational sports competition"and will be taught by Francisco Orts Delgado on February 12.

The March 11, Ramón Llopis Goig will talk about "sport in the education of our children"and the April 8, Carlos Pablos Abella will offer a conference on"training young athletes aimed primarily at technical".

The cycle will continue on May 13 with the talk "Parents as transmitters of values: What the families of the referees wait in school sports?", by Eva Pérez Torres and will conclude the June 10 with an eminently practical conference about"use of new technologies in the formation of values ​​in sport", taught by Emilio Hernández Núñez.

All conferences will be held at the Casa de la Paraula in the Dénia maritime station at 20:XNUMX p.m.

The Councilor for Sports, Marián Tamarit, has shown her support for the initiative, highlighting that it is part of “change in the philosophy of the council and the sports schools, as we believe that education is everyone's business, institutions, teachers, technicians and monitors and families".

For his part, the manager of the Fundació Baleària, Ricard Pérez, is committed to supporting activities that, like this cycle of conferences, contribute to the values ​​that have a greater impact on sports.

The organization and collaborators hope to publish later a volume in which this cycle of six conferences on sport and values ​​are collected.
