FILA Cavallers acts as a hostess at the reception of Christian captaincy

August 10 from 2016 - 01: 02

The streets of Dénia already sound, smell and feel the Moors and Christians festival, which is gradually developing its program of events that will culminate with the big days starting next Saturday. But first, and to whet your appetite, there are several important events to celebrate. The first of them was the reception of the Christian captaincy, which this year has fallen to the filà Cavallers del Me'n Fot.

With their captain, Quique Arbona, and their flag bearer, Ada Arbona, at the helm, the Cavallers entertained their guests with a dinner at Plaça de Sant Josep, in the Baix la Mar neighbourhood, which culminated in a children's entreeta in which Moors and Christians walked through the streets until they reached the main artery of the city, Calle Marqués de Campo, where hundreds of people enjoyed a cool night to the rhythm of Christian marches.

On Thursday it will be the turn of the filà Walies, this year's Moorish captaincy, which will hold its reception on Calle Pintor Victoria. Later, around 23:30 p.m., the troops of both sides will parade again through the streets of the center of Dénia.
