The "Dénia, Peix i Mar" fair is held this weekend in the port

This coming weekend, 14 and 15 June, the port of Dénia host the I Fair Dénia, Peix i Mar, A show designed to give value to the traditional fishing and seafood cuisine.

Organized by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, with the collaboration of the Association of Employers of Hospitality and Tourism (Aehtma), the Fishermen's Association of Denia and the Oceanogràfic of Valencia, the fair will be installed between the buildings of the old and the new slice.

On Saturday the fair will open its doors 11: 30 15 to 18 hours and: 30 until midnight, while the Sunday schedule will be 12: 30 15 to hours.

The main objective of this fair, as indicated by the mayor, Ana Kringe, in the presentation, is to show all the agents of sustainable fishing: the traditional fishing boats, the fishing gear, the species that are caught in the zone and, of course, the seafood gastronomy, offering tastings to the public.

To do this, and with the participation of twelve establishments in the city, tapas made with fish from the bay of Denia prepared to offer as tradiconal maera mussola or pickled octopus stew with artichokes and pencas or more creative dishes created by some of the participating restaurants. All caps will be priced at 2 euros and drinks, 1 euro.

El Raset, Tasca Eulalia, Mena Restaurant, Ramonet Jamonal, Tapes del Port, Bocafí Sandwich Shop, La Cova Tallà, Octavio, El Marino, Club Tennis Restaurant, Hotel Les Rotes and Entre Aromas are the restaurants that will participate in this first edition.

But not only the food will be visible at the fair, where environmental and fishing wealth of the marine reserve of Cap de Sant Antoni also have its space in three tents from which information materials will be distributed this protected area.

As complementary activities, the fair will organize guided tours around inside two traditional fishing boats, fishing gear and a simulated auction inside the fish market which includes the screening of a video explaining how life at sea views.

Saturday guided tours will be at 11.30, 13, 18 and 19.30 15 hours and on Sunday, at 11 12.30 and hours.

Councilman Sisco Signes has reported that this appointment will also be a place to collect signatures of the campaign Dénia Diu NO
