The president of the FEMMICC Dénia, Sonia Pérez, together with her secretary Santi Escortell held a meeting last week with the Councilor for Citizen Protection and with a special delegation on Equality, Diversity and Public Health at the Dénia City Council, Javier Scotto.
At this meeting, accompanied by the technique in matters of equality, in a relaxed atmosphere and collaboration by both parties, agreements were reached to make Dénia's Moors and Christians festival inclusive, egalitarian and diverse.
With the signing of this agreement, both the FEMMICC and the Department of Equality and Diversity will have several objectives to meet. Among them, the following:
After the meeting and taking the glove, the FEMMICC Dénia has got down to work and has created a working group with the aim of holding a photographic exhibition on women at the party. In this way, the beginnings of women in the Moors and Christians of Dénia will be announced, as well as their entire history during the last 30 years. The idea would be to exhibit it in the Marquesa Valero House in Palma and make it itinerant through the different towns of the Valencian Community. This will give more visibility to the party.
From the FEMMICC they have confirmed that they will continue to work side by side with the local council to make the Moors and Christians of Dénia an inclusive, egalitarian and diverse festival.
