The Department of Environment held a conference on protecting the reserve of Cap de Sant Antoni

Environmental Service Marine and Fisheries Department of the Environment, organized the first workshop on custody and protection of the Natural Reserve Seabed Cap de Sant Antoni last week. The main purpose was to delve into the technical aspects that contribute to better protection of this area of ​​special interest for its extensive biodiversity.

This marine area is a protected area and it is essential that all actors with a voice and action in the area know how to act to take care of it. Josep Crespo, Councilor for the Environment and Javier Scotto, mayor of the Interior, were the ones who opened the day, followed by Toni Martínez, Environmental, Marine and Fisheries coordinator of the Dénia City Council. He exposed the wealth that this marine reserve houses and the good conservation in which it is located. In the same way, he spoke of the threats to which he is exposed, which must be avoided.

Subsequently, Miquel Simó, head of the Section of Marine Fisheries of the Territorial Directorate of Alicante, was responsible for exposing all applicable regulations in these waters both as regards fisheries and the environmental field.

This activity was attended by members of the Provincial Maritime Service of the Guardia Civil and staff Panels Underwater. Coast Guard Reserve and local police in Denia and Xábia not want to miss it.
