The Roman city of Dianium, protagonist of a series of lectures at the Castle

When met 30 years of archaeological interventions in the Hort de Morand, the Department of Culture of the City of Denia it has organized a series of conferences around the Roman city of Dianium, whose epicenter was in the garden.

From the next 22 of May and until the 12 of June, the conferences will be held every Thursday at 20 hours in La Sala del Castillo de Dénia, and in them will participate professors and archaeologists deeply knowledgeable about the history of Dianium.

The first lecture will be borne director of the Archaeological Museum of Dénia, Josep Antoni Gisbert, entitled «Dianium. Form Vrbis. The plan of the Roman city.

Professor of Ancient History at the University of Alicante Juan Manuel Abascal will be in charge of the second conference, to be held on 29 May, and will speak about the birth of Municipium of Dianium, its historic surroundings and epigraphic testimonies that illustrate .

On June 5, the talks with the dianense archaeologist Massu will continue Sentí, with a conference on the necropolis of Dianium, death in Dénia, tombs and rites, and on June 12 the conferences will end with a presentation by the archaeologist Silvia Ruiz Server focused on excavations in the areas of the portus de Dianum.
