City launches aparcabicis

The project Cycling Dénia already it is taking shape for the city to become a good place to use the bike. The Department of Environment has installed the first ten bicycle parking in the city center to facilitate parking for cyclists.

As explained by the Councilor for the Environment, Juan Carlos Signes, the areas where the parking devices have been installed are Calle La Mar, Plaza del Consell, Plaza del Ajuntament, Glorieta, Centro de Salud, Paseo Cervantes, Calle Cándida Carbonell, Plaza from Les Drassanes, Red Cross and Municipal Market, all of them with a total capacity for 114 bicycles.

These devices have an inverted "u" shape and improve the safety of bicycles, because they offer the possibility of locking the bicycle on both wheels preventing theft.

New technologies have also reached the parking lot, as each car park is equipped with a QR code that gives access to useful information: virtual maps with the network of cycling itineraries of the city, location of shops and specialized workshops, access to the Facebook Cycling Dénia and connection I biciregistro.

Signes announced that soon other 18 points Bicycle parking farther from the urban areas will be created.
