The signature of Burgos (Creative City of Gastronomy), Llíria (Music), Manises (Crafts and Popular Arts) and Dénia (Gastronomy) configures the beginning of this new organization that aims to give relevance to the creative cities of Spain through joint collaboration .

The event was chaired by the permanent delegate ambassador of Spain to UNESCO, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, the secretary general of the Spanish National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO, Santiago Sierra, and the general secretary deputy of the Spanish National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO, Isabel Ortega.

The agreement between creative cities of different kinds, from literature to design, passing through gastronomy and cinema, aims, in the words of Grimalt, "to share our creativity and put our capacity for innovation to the test".

In addition, focal points (coordinators of the creative city projects of each municipality) of those cities that have not signed the constitution agreement today while waiting for it to be fully approved, have left in writing their commitment to collaborate and participate in the common project.

On the other hand, two cities not included in the network of creative cities have wanted to participate in the event as visitors: Tangier (Morocco) and Tours (France).
