The Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs is against the pedestrianization of Marqués de Campo

18 July 2016 - 00: 01

The recently renewed Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of Dénia (ACE) met with its manager last Friday, July 15, to analyze the situation in which the city's commerce finds itself and the measures that can be taken from its position.

At this meeting they agreed on their refusal to pedestrianize the main artery of the city, Marqués de Campo Street, and to commit in compensation to a commercial review of La Vía Street, Explanada Cervantes and the new seafront. According to merchants, the improvement of local businesses involves "facilitate access, signage, circulation and free, at least partial, local parking".

Also they consider that «We have an urgent need to take care of the visitors we have and study how to access more registered residents and more visitors», and «increase as we can the wealth of the residents and workers in Denia so that they themselves are the ones who sustain commerce in times of low tourist activity».

In order to achieve these aspects, they have been marked as objectives "maintain, promote and improve commerce in the city", "develop the urban commercial circuit so that all businesses benefit" y "maintain a constant dialogue with the competent agents to achieve our objectives".
