José Antonio Monsonís, new president of the Local Board Fallera Denia

May 02 from 2015 - 01: 41

José Antonio Monsonís is already, for all intents and purposes, president of the Dénia Fallera Local Board. Once the deadline for submitting candidatures is over, and having been the only candidate who presented himself, he automatically becomes the new president of the festive entity, taking over from Jaume Bertomeu and his team.

José Antonio Monsonís is a fallero from the Les Roques district, a commission of which he has been president three times; the last one, this past year with Laura Ferrer as major faller.

The new president of the Local Board Fallera will take possession of his position on 9 day of May, in an act to be held at the City of Dénia just one day after the official farewell of the city's major fallers during the past year, Carla Petrie and Candela Pastor.

Over the next few weeks we will know who will accompany Monsonís in his presidency, it should be remembered that has been reduced to two years. This decision was taken by the extraordinary general meeting held after the first deadline for nominations without any interest in the position.

Also in the coming weeks we will know who will be the new Falleras Mayores de Dénia. The deadline for submitting candidatures has already been opened and will close on the 7th. After the coexistence on Saturday, May 9, the fallas will vote for their favorites on Tuesday, the 12th, the day on which the mayor will call the lucky ones who will represent the fallera party of Dénia throughout the Region.
