Investments of more than 100 million euros for the Line 9 of the TRAM that links Benidorm and Denia

The 9 line of the TRAM d`Alacant Continues with its renovation work, improvement of the safety, communications and energy facilities, upgrading of bridges and slopes and incorporation of new trains, with the aim of equating in conditions of quality and service this section with the rest of the network Of TRAM.

All these improvements are part of the investments that it is promoting in the network of Ferrocarrils of the Generalitat Valenciana (FGV), the Consellería de Vivenda, Obras Públicas and Vertebración del Territorio, which in this line has an expected investment that Exceeds 100 million euros.

Among these investments is the repair of the bridges of Teulada and Gata de Gorgos located on the N-332 road. Ferrocarrils of the Generalitat Valenciana has awarded the execution of these works, plus a bridge in Villajoyosa, for an amount of 1.779.282 euros. The deadline for the execution of the works is eight months.

Works to be carried out on bridges

Bridges will replace the panels and repair elements of them, ensuring the functionality of the metal structures. The previous actions will consist of operations of signaling, dismantling of track and railway installations on the bridges.

The existing boards will be removed by means of cranes and the performances will be carried out in the stirrups for partial demolitions of the same ones, execution of micropiles, assembly of reinforcements, concreting of load beams and placement of neoprene to formalize a new support Of the supporting structure.

The new boards will be raised by heavy tonnage cranes, which will allow their definitive location, which must be preformed in workshops and assembled on site since a mixed structure of metallic profile and reinforced concrete slab is provided.

Finally, the works of superstructure of track and complementary actions consist in the replacement of facilities, extended of layer of ballast and the assembly of the way.
