«Habemus» agreement for the surveillance of the Cabo de San Antonio Marine Reserve

Finally, after many months of waiting, Dénia has an agreement for the surveillance of the Cabo de San Antonio Marine Reserve. The mayor of Dénia has received in the City Council the Vice President of the Generalitat and Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, José Císcar, and the Councilor for Infrastructure, Isabel Bonig, as well as the director of the Dénia Marina, Gabriel Martínez, to proceed with the signing of such a long-awaited agreement.

The mayor explained that in this final agreement "the conditions established in the first draft have been improved". Under the agreement, Dénia provide a boat for surveillance, and will be the boat that was donated to the consortium by the Courts of Denia in charge of such work.

The agreement is valid for ten years may be extended by agreement of the parties. For follow up a commission which will be represented Generalitat, City Hall and Marina de Dénia be created. The City Council is committed to working with a boat, a pattern and offices to perform procedures, and administrative support staff.

The socialist deputy Jordi Serra, present at the signing of the agreement, has lamented that "The PP has taken almost two years to sign an agreement that disadvantages Dénia, since it assumes an annual expense that does not correspond to us because it is an autonomous competition".

According to Serra, "With this firm, the Consell de Fabra has finally achieved the objective it had from the beginning: to reduce its financial contribution from a Valencian Generalitat that is bankrupt, at the cost of the already depleted coffers of the municipality of Dénia".
