Grimalt highlights before his militancy the great transformation that Dénia will experience during 2022

On Tuesday, February 15, the militancy of the Dénia PSPV-PSOE group met in an extraordinary assembly, the first in-person since the start of the pandemic, to take stock of the degree of compliance with the city's socialist government program to the 2019-2023 legislature.

The local secretary, Vicent Grimalt, mayor of Dénia, pointed out that "the degree of compliance with the 23 main points of the program is very high" and highlighted the great transformation that the city will undergo during 2022, the year in which they are scheduled to be executed. major works such as "the rehabilitation of Torrecremada, where the University of Alicante campus will be located; the redevelopment of the Glorieta and the surrounding streets, the improvement of Marqués de Campo and the construction of the new park on the site of the old ambulatory" .

"Despite all the obstacles, the first being the pandemic that continues to accompany us, the work of the team of councilors who make up the government is very good; the planned projects are progressing and we are even starting new ones," such as the "Open Courtyards" project. CEIP Cervantes has already been launched, one of the initiatives included in the Children's Plan to offer children and young people a safe place to play on weekends.

Grimalt also insisted that this pace of work is achieved "by being faithful to the roadmap that we have set for ourselves and striving to meet the objectives set; by 2022, 80 actions that we have committed to carrying out with the public."

According to the training, among the great achievements that the new year has brought, the award of the new contract for garbage collection and street cleaning, "which will be fully operational in the summer"; the concession to Dénia of a subsidy of 3 million euros from the Next Generation funds to develop the Tourism Sustainability Plan; recognition as a Tourist Municipality of the Community, "which opens the doors for us to opt for new aid"; or the asphalting plans in the polygon and in the Montgó area.

An assessment was also made of the investment made to meet the needs arising from the pandemic: 3,25 million in aid to vulnerable groups and small businesses and the self-employed, thanks to the collaboration of the Diputación, Generalitat and Ayuntamiento, and the 1,3 .XNUMX million earmarked for employment policies in the hardest months of the pandemic.

During the course of the assembly, councilors Maite Pérez and Javier Scotto were also congratulated for their recent appointments in the provincial executive of the PSPV-PSOE as provincial secretary for Training and provincial secretary for Diversity and LGTBI.
