Gent de Dénia proposes a roundabout to end the black dot

25 September 2019 - 12: 57

This morning, the Gent de Dénia party has presented at its headquarters the urgent proposal that will take to the plenary next Thursday. This is the installation of a roundabout in the so-called "black dot" Denia.

The Dianense party has presented this project previously claimed by citizens in social networks. It is a roundabout that would be located at the intersection of Alicante Avenue with Germans Gavilà Ferrer, Montgó Avenue and Teulada Street. An undoubtedly dangerous section, where traffic accidents occur too often due to the imprudent speeds that vehicles usually reach and the lack of visibility for the incorporation into or leaving the road.

Mario Vidal, spokesman for Gent de Dénia

Gent de Dénia says that, after the study they have done, it would not be very expensive to carry out the project. Perhaps the biggest part that could cause problems to carry it forward would be the appropriation of the Cervantes school to widen the roundabout lanes. However, Mario Vidal, spokesman for the training, says that it would be only 50 meters where there is nothing apart from a lighting tower for the basketball court, which "would relocate easily".

Crossroads where the roundabout would be located

In order to alleviate accidents, the roundabout "I would play a lot at the crossroads", says Vidal, thus preventing vehicles from reaching speeds not allowed on Alicante Avenue and facilitating traffic between the different roads. In the study they ensure that the use that trucks can make of it, with sufficiently wide rails, 15 meters wide in its narrowest part, so that they do not have problems turning.
