'Extend your hand' distributed 50.000 kilos of food to the neediest in 2013

The Association "Extend your hand"Created by the Evangélica Bautista Church "The Trinitat" Dénia, distributed last year more than 50.000 kilos of food and drink among the neediest families in the city. This was announced at the dinner held at the temple of the Alfa & Omega school last week, with which they wanted to thank the collaboration of volunteers and entities throughout this time.

According to the president of the association, Antonio Calero, during 2013 helped from the association to 342 families, which is equivalent to more than 1.300 people, both with food and clothing, which were distributed more than 14.000.

In addition to these initiatives, the partnership "Extend your hand" continues to hold the soup kitchen, which last year served menus 8.861 38 with the help of volunteers. Every day soup kitchen came to an average of 44 people whose profile has changed: if you started with a largely immigrant user, now more than 84% of users are Spanish. This year, as a novelty, a snack is included so that children can have lunch during recess.

Although one of the prerequisites for aid is to be registered in the city, Antonio Calero recognized that often make the "blind eye" because there are many people have been evicted, who are living on the streets or in abandoned works.
