ERPV Dénia asks to relocate the shooting ranges outside the Montgó
From Esquerra Republicana País Valencià de la Marina Alta they have waged a battle so that the two firing ranges currently operating on Montgó, near the natural park, are transferred to a location.
This claim is motivated by the lack of respect, supposedly, for the ecosystem of a protected place that shows to allow activities "like hitting shots". According to the Republican formation, Les Planes has been filled with dangerous garbage, including pellets, due to this practice. Likewise, the noise often exceeds decibels, disturbing neighbors and hikers. In the same way, they warn that the danger is increased when the activity takes place near roads where people pass.
ERPV wonders how it can be that two progressive city councils such as Dénia and Xàbia allow "such an anti-ecological activity" attached to the Montgó Natural Park. According to the formation, in 2002 it was assured that work would be done to relocate the shooting ranges outside the Montgó, but to this day that project has come to nothing. "If you really love the natural park and its biodiversity, then respect them once and for all", claim to the municipalities of Dénia and Xàbia.
