Dénia Boat Show Ten years inculcating love for the sea

November 03 from 2016 - 08: 35

When in 2006 the organization of a Boat Show was raised in Dénia, it did not seem the best moment due to the strong crisis that was hitting the sector. But the Puerto Deportivo Marina de Dénia bet strongly on this event and now comes its tenth edition.

Many things have changed since that first edition, which was born as an opportunity for companies working in the port and has become one of the most important nautical events of the country of the year. In 2017, the X Boat Show Dénia 28 will be held from April to May 1 in Marina de Denia.

He was its director, Gabriel Martinez, who presented this year in Valencia Boat Show, another important boat show which served as a showcase for Denia. In his presentation Martinez one of the main objectives in the Boat Show Dénia focus is on promoting boating, "And that's why we went around the contest and started organizing a multitude of activities for the little ones. What we want to show is that in our country, nautical is for everyone".

And it is not just sailing boats, as recalled Martinez, "It's paddle surfing, rowing, canoeing". For this reason, numerous activities for the young public focused on these practices are programmed. But the Boat Show is above all an exhibitor of nautical businesses. As Martinez stated during the presentation, "We have been the first in this country to talk about nautical tourism and differentiate between sport and nautical tourism. And, this idea is beginning to penetrate other forums".

The presentation of X Boat Show Dénia in the Marina Real Juan Carlos I in Valencia was attended by Fernando Jiménez, director of Valencia Boat Show, which coincided with Martinez in stating that "The real protagonist is the exhibitor and I also share with him the need we have in the Valencian Community to promote sailing and open it to all. I hope and wish that this collaboration continues as we can have many synergies".

The director of the Boat Show Dénia also thanked the commitment of many companies for the Dénia contest and the support that every year has the City of Dénia. In addition, he made a special mention to all the team that has worked in the last 10 years in the contest and to the navigator Álex Pella, image of the port that will try to beat for the second time the challenge of the World Tour to Sailing, in the Jules Verne Trophy with the IDEC Sport.
